Installations
Here are photos of various installation in different locations. At times placing existing elements in new configurations to respond to that particular environment.
Seeing Through :: Landscape As Time
This painting installation layers colors from one landscape over the immediate landscape on the other side of the glass window that it's attached to.
Considering the landscape, how one looks past trees or through a stand of them. Same with vistas, it’s the long shot that we remember and is the foundation of the concept of landscape.
Fred Sandback talked about seeing through as part of his work, seeing thought, piercing the planes that were defined by the yarn.
Using the transparent material, Jaun silk, one can see through part, the framework of this piece. Installing on a window allows the viewer to look through it, incorporate it into the view of the outdoor landscape.
By bringing the colors of the Yellow Trail to the installation site one landscape merges with another. The faraway is nearby.
Additionally this palette of 72 unique colors was translated into seasons and applied to polyester resin film for diaphanous strips hanging from the ceiling or undulating across the floor, and on museum board as paintings representing each season.
